During the second half of this year I was able to revisit some more favourite authors. I was delighted to rediscover Carol Hedges‘ Victorian Detectives in the last volume of the series Desire & Deceit .
I rediscovered Sara Sheridan, many of whose books I read about 10 years ago. Her latest novel The Fair Botanists is a superb historical novel set in Georgian Edinburgh.
Rachel Joyce never fails to please but Miss Benson’s Beetle was a most unusual volume, yet another trip into the past.
Rachel Rhys set her claustrophobic voyage to Australia in 1939 in the compelling Dangerous Crossing.
I continued my reading of the works of Ann Cleeves with the first of her new series The Long Call set in North Devon. I thoroughly enjoyed the book which was much better than the TV mini-series. And I extended my reading of crime writer (with a difference) James Oswald by leaping on his new Constance Fairchild series in No Time to Cry
Nathan Dylan Goodwin writes intriguing mysteries based on genealogical research but they are eventful thrillers for everyone to enjoy. The Missing Man was one of the best.
Eloise Williams writes books which are not only suitable for middle grade children they are also exactly the sort of story I relish reading. Wilde carries on the high quality.
And more recently I have indulged myself in seasonal cheer with Helen Pollard‘s Christmas at Fox Farm and Heidi Swain‘s The Winter Garden
I need to read some of these. Great post

Thanks, Jill. I have loved all of Helen Pollardās books even though I only read a few romances.
